Notifications and announcements

When you'll be notified

• Recording results: A recording has been processed, no usable speech was detected, or processing failed. Tap the notification to open that recording.
• While recording: Interrupted by a call, an upload finished or failed, and more. See Recording on your phone.
• Account: A reply to your feedback, or a change to your account.
• Service notices: Announcements about version updates, service changes, and more.

After your first recording finishes uploading, LATU first explains why it needs notifications. Tap “Continue”, and then the system asks whether to allow them. While LATU is in the foreground, no banners appear; only the list and the unread count are updated.

For now, push notifications are sent on iPhone; on Android, messages appear only in “Notifications”.

Notifications (message center)

Go to “Profile → Account → Notifications”. When there are unread messages, you'll see “N unread” and a red dot:

• Each message shows a title, a summary, and the time. Unread messages are in bold.
• Tap a recording message to open that recording; tap an announcement to read it in full.
• Tap “Mark all read” in the top-right corner to clear all unread messages at once.

Notification settings

In the top-right corner of “Notifications”, open “Notification settings”:

• System notifications: Shows whether notifications are turned on. If they're off, you won't get banner alerts; tap “Open Settings” to turn them on in system Settings.
• Push me about: “Recording results”, “Account”, and “Service notices” can each be turned off separately.

Turning a type off only stops push notifications; the messages still appear in “Notifications”.

Announcements

When we publish an important announcement, the latest one you haven't read pops up when you open LATU or return to it, showing the title, publish time, and full text:

• Tap “Got it” to close it. If the announcement includes a link, you can tap “View details”.
• Only the latest one pops up. Read earlier unread announcements in “Notifications”.
• Version updates don't pop up here. Instead, you'll see “New version available”. See Check for updates.
